Well the first Superman, Action Comics crossover is reaching its finale. Mxyzptlk had captured Jon because he was angry at Superman for forgetting him.

This issue we see it all come to a head. Superman has won Mxyzptlk’s challenge but he won’t be defeated that easily. Having another scheme up his sleeve to take Jon with him, but who is this other being Mxyzptlk speaks of that Superman, Lois and Jon should be weary of their wrath?

This was a very fun and exciting crossover. With crossover fatigue being a major issues with comics lately this one was surprisingly engaging and well worth the read. There were many twists and turns that kept us guessing whats coming next.

The overall lesson for this story did come across a bit cheesy at the end, but that’s a small problem when you factor in how well this story was constructed. Things were also left with a lot of setup for more to come. There was no definitive ending and that actually got me excited. I really want to know who Mxyzptlk is talking about, and I bet it will be just as a surprise as it was finding out Mxyzptlk was behind the other Clark Kent.

The art for this issue was also really impressive. The colors were bright and really jumped out at you. The panels were laid out perfectly and you really got this sense of them being in another dimension that’s just a slightly weirder version of their home dimensions. The visuals perfectly matched the craziness that is Mxyzptlk.

If you haven’t read this crossover I highly suggest you go pick up the previous issues of Superman and Action Comics. This is one of the best crossover stories I have read in a long time.
