When I was a young man many moons ago, there was this woman who emerged from the depths of Baywatch and her name was Pamela Anderson. Many boys my age had the hots for this young blonde vixen and much to our chagrin, Tommy Lee ended up marrying her and filming an infamous sex tape that was also popular with us young men...but that's besides the point. Anyway, she made another movie that wasn't as popular called Barb Wire. I didn’t mind the movie so I decided to review the comic. I have to say that this issue was pretty good. Lots of good buildup and we get a return to the bar from the original comic/movie. Lots of good guy and bad guy dynamics going on. Exciting stuff!

Chris Warner created the character years ago and he returns again to the helm for this run. He's got a knack for noirish dialogue and for the occasional lewd joke that slips itself in ever so slightly. Again, I was impressed because I only remember the movie being a tolerable via my nostalgia glasses and the fact that Pamela was a minx. This was really tight and fluid, I enjoyed it thoroughly.

The art team were on the cusp of legendary but only got to great. Not a bad thing by any means. I liked the outfits and the fabrics and the materials on a whole, but I had a huge problem with the size variance between all the characters. Some were small or average and others were 9'5" covered in huge muscles. It wasn't that weird to see in a comic I guess but I just hoped for a tiny bit of realism because of the source material. Regardless, great stuff.

I liked this one a lot. Pick it up if you're down for something new.
