Grim Leaper #2

by lucstclair on June 18, 2012

After every new horrific deaths & “reincarnated leaps” into new bodies, Lou & Ella keep accidentally meeting. Are the linked by fate? Or is it just a coincidence. One thing is for certain, death is their connection and until they figure a way out of these patterns, death is here to stay.

The Pros

This is turning out to be a really fun mini series with it’s over the top violence & extremely graphic death scenes. It’s not all fun & games for the characters, as Lou feels compassion for the wife of his latest “possessed” victim, who truly loves him. She has no idea that in the next 24 hours or so her husband will suffer a horrible freakish death. This detailed & elaborate death will have you in awe, writer Kurtis Wiebe should pen the script for the next Final Destination movie. Illustrator Aluisio C. Santos’ drawings are in your face with an abundance of blood & gore, if this was movie, the 3D would be outstanding.

The Cons

You can’t just have a comic with nothing but blood & guts, eventually your plot needs to advance. Hopefully this will happen next issue.

The Outcome

This mini series is a riot and it makes sense to release it in a limited series. I love the fact that it’s only 4 issues, no long commitments that an unlimited series has & less money to spend. From Image Comics.
