Hellboy : House Of The Living Dead (HC Graphic Novella)

by lucstclair on May 15, 2012

Mexico 1952, feeling extreme guilt for the death of a colleague, Hellboy makes a living as a luchador (wrestler), every night he takes his winnings and drowns his sorrows away in an alcoholic haze. After a few months, he learns about a girl held captive somewhere, which leads him to a secluded house filled with ghosts, a werewolf, vampires & monsters oh my!

Writer Mike Mignola loves to write about monsters, which is the reason he created Hellboy & the B.P.R.D. universe. This is a love letter to those famous monster movies like Dracula, The Wolfman & Frankenstein’s monster. It’s a beautiful hard cover, stand alone story and it’s a hoot. Illustrated by the weird & fantastic art of Richard Corben (Ragemoor). I’m a huge fan of Corben’s work, the men are often drawn stocky, the women are voluptuous & big breasted & the monsters are awkward & deformed, but in a cool way. Slap an awesome Mignola cover and you’ve got yourself one fine looking Hellboy book. From Dark Horse Comics.
