Criminal Macabre : Die, Die, My Darling!

by lucstclair on April 10, 2012

Cal McDonald, formally a human, now a ghoul, but still a hard as nails, pill-popping & hard-drinking detective is on a new case. He is visited by a strange man with an even stranger sister (think Kuato from Total Recall). It seems that he must eliminate a target by midnight tonight or else the world will end. What’s a ghoul to do?

The last and only C.M story I’ve read was the original story arc, so I’m not exactly Mr. Current Events when it comes to the misadventures of Cal McDonald & his ghoulish partner Mo’Lock. McDonald’s a ghoul now and watching him trying really hard to adjust to the (un) life of a living corpse is hilarious to say the least. This was an amusing read and it seems I have a lot of catching up to do. Written by Steve Niles (30 Days Of Night) & illustrated by Christopher Mitten & a great cover by the wonderful Fiona Staples (Saga). Originally published as Die, Die, My Darling! Part 1-3 in Dark Horse Presents #4-#6. From Dark Horse Comics.
