I know I probably say this often, but what a great week this is for comics! Lots of fun stuff is out and Specter Inspectors should have a spot for on your pull list.

This book is perfect for fans of the supernatural, horror versions of the Archie books, and Scooby Doo. Specter Inspectors follows a group of ghost hunters as they visit one of America’s most haunted towns. Their investigation uncovers something in Cape Grace, something menacing that’s been hidden for centuries. I had such a great time reading this book, McCurdy & Musto have crafted an exciting tale. The humor lands well and even amplifies how chilling some scenes are.

I love the wash of green over Cape Grace, it adds a sense of eeriness and helps to understand the shift in time through points in the book without causing whiplash. McCurdy illustrates so much of these characters personalities and relationships to their work and each other, especially when entering the town hall. Each character comes into the building with their own approach; be it curious, skeptical, afraid, or excited. The book also does wonderful work in letting the reader understand the relationships between characters, especially between Noa and Astrid through distance and subtle touch.

Specter Inspectors #1 is off to a strong start and the end promises tons more to come!
