This has been a crazy event. The X-Men have been fighting for their survival while the Inhumans are fighting for their legacy.

This issue every thing comes to a head and it's all over. But who won? Or do they all lose? So much has happened, so many lives have been lost in this senseless battle that could have been avoided if both parties openly talked with each other. The X-Men felt they had no time and thus were thrust into this war.

I have to say that this event started off strong. The first issue was a lot of fun and really showed what the X-Men could do. It had been so long since we have seen the X-Men really in action so that was great and really helped to get us excited for the event. That ended really quickly when it was discovered that all of this centered around miscommunication, as well as Emma Frost seeking revenge for Cyclops death. She blamed the Inhumans for his death even though it was back when no one knew it was the cloud killing mutants. Ultimately Emma went insane and used the X-Men to take out who she deemed responsible.

The whole event and this issue especially is just completely littered with misscharacterization. Seeing at the end a glimpse of what they have turned Emma into is not the Emma Frost we have come to know and love. Yes she loved Cyclops, but there is no way she would have gone insane like they have made her. Also many other characters didn't feel like themselves and really made me feel that Lemire and Soule truly don't understand them like they should  have, or did they do something writers like Brian Michael Bendis is known for and change a characters characteristics purely for the story? This is something we may never know.

All of that aside there was some fun to be had with this last issue of the event. The action sequences were laid out in a very engaging way, and again the art was amazing and probably the best part of the issue. Leini Francis Yu's attention to detail and the colors that David Curiel brought in really made each page stand out on it's own.

The event is now over and we have new creative teams coming in with Ressurexion this spring. I am hopeful that things can get back to what we have come to love from the x-books. Unfortunately this event has left a sour taste in my mouth and my once hopefulness that this event was going to save the X-Men has now left me really feeling, is this the actual Death of X?
