We are now two issue into this series with only two left to go and what do we know so far? The same thing we have known for months, terrigen kills mutants, the X-Men and Inhumans can't coexist peacefully or work together.

So after the last dismal issue of this mini-series, I didn't have high hopes for this one. I did hope that we would get more answers to the big burning question, is Marvel killing off the X-Men? That never happened, what happened in this book is more of what happened in the first issue of this series. They revealed what we already have known for months, terrigen kills mutants, the X-Men and Inhumans can't coexist peacefully or work together.

My fear that this series was all just setup for the upcoming X-Men vs Inhumans event and would contain nothing of substance is coming true. This book and series is nothing but a waste of time and money. The story is not engaging, and many of the characters are written out of character. For those of us who have been long time X-fans it really hurts to see our beloved mutants say and react in ways that they never would.

I expect a lot more from the level of writer that Jeff Lemire is and it saddens me that he is delivering such a terrible story, but more than that the disservice he is doing miss writing these characters.

Even Aaron Kuder's art in this issue is bad. Many of the faces are warped and it just seems like this book was rushed. There's no attention to detail, and some of the more touching moments I found myself not caring because it seems like our creative team doesn't care either.

I would avoid this book and series altogether. Even if the X-Men vs Inhumans event is amazing, you wouldn't be lost if you skipped this series and just waited for that. We probably will get something of importance in the final pages of the last issue of this series but you can just google it to be caught up. Don't waste your hard earned money on something that is apparently just slapped together with no substance.
