THIS! Wow ditch the other young mutants and just keep following this team, this is where the book really shines. ‘New Mutants’ from the start has been good, but not amazing like ‘Marauders’ or ‘X-Force’ have been. That all changes now with this issue and we finally get the ‘New Mutants’ we were promised and that we deserve.

This series has always had a lot of comedy but in previous issues it felt a little empty in substance. Well I was blow away by how much fun this book was and how much heart it has. So many of the characters shined, even if it was subtle compared to other characters being in your face over the top hilarity. I’m a huge fan of Magik, and she was the major standout in this issue. It’s great to see after a few years of being written completely out of character, to have her given so much love and so much attention in this book. She's back, and I couldn't be happier!

I honestly think this book should continue with just this team. The previous story was not very good, and the switching back and forth really messes with the flow. This issue finally has the book finding its groove and I’d like to see it continue without another disruption. This space opera has now finally pulled me in, and I want more. More Roberto and Dark Bird, more Illyana wanting to make out with people, more Chamber and Mondo's not caring. I didn't think this team in space was going to grab me like it now has, and I'm living for it.

The art in this book, is back to being outstanding. I love Rod Reis’s quirky style. It feels very ‘New Mutants’ and lends to a lot of the comedic moments in the book.

Overall ‘New Mutants’ almost made me pee my pants it was so hilarious. If the future issues in this series deliver what this one has, then it could swiftly become one of the best series on the market. Go pick this one up, you won’t regret it.
