This is what we need and yet again Next Gen proves that it is the must read series from Age of X-Man. Who would have thought that the book that revolves around the students would be the flagship book of the event. This book seems to be where all the questions we have been asking throughout the event are being answered. I even had some questions after reading Apocalypse and the X-Tracts and this issue managed to shed some light on what I was wondering about.

I enjoyed this so much and it was great to see Glob do more than just be there and be awkward. There are also some cameos in this book of mutants we haven't seen in a long time. I really hope we get to see more of them than the few panels they showed up in in this book.

While some of the other series in this event I find myself wondering what the point is, Next Gen I'm excited for every issue. Things look like they are going to get very exciting and this world that has been created could come crashing down, and by some students. While this story is still pretty simplistic Ed Brisson manages to bring a great  mix of drama, intrigue, mystery, suspense and action.

It's also in the choice of characters that this book just pulls me in. Some of these younger mutants have always been my favorites all the way back to Academy X. Seeing them here and having such important roles really helps to grab my attention. We aren't getting the same old same and so many lesser known character really get to shine and thats a huge draw of this book.

This book is a must read for anyone following Age of X-Man. It's so much fun and is a great read with beautiful art. I can't wait for the next book as this one raised my excitement for it and the event. This is a series not to be missed.
