So I still have yet to watch this show, even after thoroughly enjoying the first issue, but again....you don't need to be a fan of the show to understand what's going on in this comic's world. From everything I've gathered, Ichabod Crane was transported forward in time by a covenant of witches and now he works as a consultant for Sleepy Hollow PD. It's a cool concept and this issue was pretty interesting. It was about Ichabod finding a puzzle box that has a lot more secrets than he or his partner in SHPD knows. Some really cool ideas and scenery.

Bennett delivers some pretty cool lines and song lyrics in this one. She's done her homework in the alternative language front because there's a whole song written in some dialect that I didn't even know witches spoke, looked Latin-based though. She obviously knows the material from the show as well, seeing as the characters essentially jump off the page with life. If I had to guess, I'd say that this is as close to the TV show as you're gonna get if you want an expanded experience.

And then there was Coelho, who continues to amaze. Great art all around, especially the scenes that happen in "otherworldly" places because he does something in the art that makes it feel like the characters aren't present on this Earthly plane. Besides that, the characters themselves are drawn beautifully and i dig Coelho's "sporadic" drawing that looks sometimes like pencil lines exude out of the characters extremities. The town of Sleepy Hollow is also drawn to perfection and is very cozy, I dug it.

Great issue! Check it out if you're a fan.
