The latest installment in the Worst Among Equals arc picks up with Aphra and Triple Zero in the clutches of the local Imperials on Milvayne, with the countdown on the bombs installed in both of them going down fast. The duo must find a way to escape and get to the one person on the planet who may be able to help them defuse the bombs.

Characterization is strong as always. Both Aphra and Triple Zero are forced to confront some hard truths, and the fallout from these revelations seem set to have major ramifications for the series. I’m very curious if Triple Zero will make it out of this arc in one piece. I’ve also grown attached to all of the series’ supporting characters to varying degrees. Ezavan, Ponda, Tam Posla, Sana, Tolvan, Winloss, Nokk, the list goes on. Getting a glimpse of Mon Mothma was a pleasant surprise too.

The arc continues to be one of the series’ strongest. Like I’ve mentioned before, one of the biggest drawbacks to it is the release schedule. Likely because the other two current ongoings mostly get two issues a month, it always feels like forever between issues of the series to the point that I have a hard time remembering details and beats from a couple of issues ago. I’m looking forward to rereading this arc all at once after the final issue comes out.

Laiso’s art style never fails to please, it’ll be a sad day when he leaves the series.

Overall, it’s a pretty solid installment in what has been a pretty great arc. The issue leaves us on a big cliffhanger and I’m looking forward to see what ramifications the next issue will have for the characters and for the series as a whole.
