Batman #11

by lucstclair on July 12, 2012

The final battle between Batman and Lincoln March and only one will walk away! Plus: The final hours of Jarvis Pennyworth in the conclusion of “The Fall of the House of Wayne”.

The Pros

The thrilling conclusion to The Court of Owls story line and it’s a very satisfying ending, grant it, not as shocking as last issue, but otherwise still a great issue. What an incredible story arc this has been, from Scott Snyder’s masterful storytelling to Greg Capullo’s exceptional illustrations. It’s nice to know that this duo will be around for at least another story arc, with the return of The Joker no less. Normally I don’t like the back up stories because I feel like I’m not getting my money’s worth, but this story about Alfred’s father and his life with the Waynes tied in nicely with the main story.

The Cons

This issue’s ending is what I’ve come to expect in a Batman story, a little too predictable, but like taking a trip, it’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey.

The Outcome

This entire Batman run was a total thrill ride from #1 to #11, which for me, makes this the finest New 52 series DC has to offer. This issue gets a 4 star rating & the entire story arc gets a 5 star rating.
