Shocking ending! This issue was great. This is part two of the Bloodshot Island story. Ray Garrison, Bloodshot is still stranded on the so called Bloodshot Island. Ray and the other Bloodshots wake up after being killed again to regroup and try to find a way to defeat their deadly foe Deathmate.

Okay let's start with the art. I wish I was able to describe in better more technical terms what I am seeing, but I will try to do this justice with my layman thoughts. It's a beautiful book to look at. I've been a big fan of the art in this series since issue one. Mico Suayan has been doing a stunning job, and this was a pleasure to look at. David Baron's colours complement the art so well. I would buy this book for the art alone even if the story wasn't as great as it is. I love the character design. The Bloodshots all kind of look similar but are different enough that you can tell them apart, and also get a pretty good guess as to which combat era they are from. Deathmate herself looks really cool.

The story so far is really good. I liked that in this issue Jeff Lemaire has had an amazing run so far with Bloodshot. This issue the we learn a bit more about Tank man, the Bloodshot from World War II. These historical Bloodshots are interesting characters. So once again Deathmate tracks the Bloodshots, and for some reason that I can't go into doesn't want to kill the Ray Garrison Bloodshot. That ending! I loved it and I can't wait for people to read it. It could have big repercussions to the greater Valiant Universe, but we will see. There wasn't as much action in this as some issues of the series, but that is okay, because we got some great story. Bloodshot is still a flawed character, and is still seeing his imaginary "friend" Bloodsquirt. The good thing about this book is it doesn't matter where it goes after this Lemaire has built a trust with this reader at least, trusting that he will deliver a great story in the end.

The art was awesome, the writing was great. This was a great read. We have gotten 3 stellar issues in a row from Jeff Lemaire in less then a month. My only complaint is now I have to wait a month to read more. This week was a big week for Valiant with 3 of their main titles out, and this one is probably the highlight for me. It's great and you should be reading it. Now, go buy it now.
