The Amazing Spider-Man #15

Writer: Dan Slott
Artist: Giuseppe Camuncoli

I have to be honest with you--as fun and exhilirating the Spider-Verse event was, I only had one desire as a reader going into this event: for Otto to find a back door into being in 616. At the end of this issue I can't say with 100% certainty whether he did or not, but I can say that this was a damn fun event book that made me forget about the wear and tear of the mass of events happening recently. Spider-Verse, in essence, seems like a big cash-in attempt by combing EVERY SPIDER  EVER into a storyline that had no right to be good and should have been a garbled mess. But it wasn't.

Thanks to excellent plotting from Dan Slott and killer art contibutions by Oliver Coipel and Giuseppe Camuncoli, the flagship title of the Spider-Verse event was a massive success. Surround by wonderful ancillary books to help build up the importance of the event, it's easy to see how successful this event was. Spider-Gwen and Silk have been a resounding success, the former drumming up massive numbers on the resale market for her first appearance. And while the specifics of time travel are always a little wobbly,

Slott does a good job of covering most of his bases to make everything make sense in world. Something that might have slipped out of control with a lesser writer. With Camuncoli backing him up, they deliver a solid ending to a very fun event that will go down as one of the better Spider-Man tales in recent memory.
