It's over. Zero Year is finally over. A lot hung in the balance with this issue. Endings are important, especially endings to year long arcs. Would this be remembered throughout Bat history as a definitive and quintessential Batman tale, or would all be for naught due to an ending that sours the rest of the story's goodness. Well, I'm hear to say, IT WAS SO GODDAMN AMAZING.

The team did an amazing job here, and normally I praise the art team specifically for Zero Year, but in this issue Snyder stole the show. This book has some of his best writing, and probably the best ending he's made across all of his comics career. It truly is something special. The epilogue is pure Bat-gold. In just a few short pages he was able to definitively display both Bruce's and Alfred's characters, what they want, need, and must do. It truly was beautiful.

I can't forget the art team either, I've had no shortage of praise for them on this arc, and this book was as lush as the rest of the arc.

So please, now that it's over. Go read Zero Year. Go read the new quintessential Batman origin.
