I love this series, so much. Back before this series, when someone wanted to get into the Green Lanterns, everyone would say read Geoff Johns’ Green Lanterns. Some people would read it, but a lot would see the challenge as really daunting. This is really where this new series comes into play as it is Sam Humphries adding to the Green Lanterns mythos in a way a new reader can understand, without disturbing the things previously set up by Geoff Johns.

Last time in this series we had Volthoom, take over Raimi’s body, so this issue really gives us a history of Volthoom and the Guardians. I think it is really a testament to Humphries’ writing as he does get you really interested in the history of Volthoom in one issue, and at the same time does also make his story quite sympathetic. With Humphries actually adding funnily enough how we got the Volthoom in earth 3 as well.

For me in all honesty I am really wondering, how Volthoom will come into play with the Green Lanterns adventure and really what his plan and endgame are. The next issue is about Doctor Polaris, which is really cool as it seems like DC is spreading all the villains in JL vs SS around other books, which does show that element of DC really working together.
