Flash #16

by Batmanaruto on February 08, 2017

Writer: Joshua Williamson
Artist: Carmine Di Giandomenico
Colourist: Ivan Plascencia
Publisher: DC Comics

The great thing about this arc is Williamson is really writing this as the last hurrah of the Rogues. If DC announced they were going to stop making comics forever or for at a period of time and they wanted to give everyone a final moment. This would be amazing for the Rogues.

I really can’t praise this book enough or even how Williamson writes the Flash. Now I’m the sort of person who does like seeing superheroes in and out of their costume and the forensic scientist side of Barry is often downplayed. His smarts are usually downplayed a lot, but in this it really is the Flash at the best, against the Rogues at their best, which is shown in how he tracks down the rogues.

After all the praise of it being a last hurrah for the Rogues, it really is an exploration of the relationship between Captain Cold and the Flash. It’s a similar relationship to Batman and Joker or Superman and Lex Luthor, characters that both basically know each other’s inner workings and plans which is great.

In conclusion Williamson is writing one of my favourite books in all of DC and I can’t wait to see the final battle between Flash and Captain Cold and seeing what the future of the Rogue’s will actually be.
