I have personally not really been enjoying this series. I feel it a story we have seen so many times with Superman and I think that DC really needs to follow the Bat family approach when it comes to the Superman family. In Batman’s family his allies can do different things without them just being similar stories to what happened with Batman and Superman should take a page out of their book with Supergirl.

However saying that this was definetly the best issue yet. As supergirl was still trapped in Argo city, we finally give the conflict between her and her father a rest and address her mother. This is interesting as it does also delve both into Kara’s relationship with her mother and father. We see that her dad always seemed to be a sort of authoritarian figure in Kara’s life, but her mother was a lot more kinder.

In this issue we get to see the Argo robots finally attack National City and it’s interesting to see that even though they may not have the abilities of Superman, their touch is enough to kill people. It does make the threat more legitimate and believable, as it is then more easy for Supergirl to defeat them, than if they are all Superman clones.

I’m not really a fan of the art in the book, as I feel that the artist uses really sharp strokes, which I feel doesn’t match the fun tone the book is aiming for. However the art itself is not bad or makes the book unreadable.

In conclusion even though I was lukewarm about this book at first, I do think the book itself has really improved and I am interested to see how Orlando will use Kara to defeat the Argo robots.
