Artist: Patch Zircher
Colourist: Hi-Fi
Publisher: DC Comics

With this arc, it does really highlight one of the key aspects I really like about DC Rebirth. DC Rebirth feels as it is working as one cohesive machine. Zod popped up in Suicide Squad, was healed and cured from the effects of the Black Vault, then joined the Suicide Squad for a short while, freed himself with some help with Eradicator and Cyborg Superman and finally is now taking on the Superman family.

Whilst the arc has been alright, this is definitely the best issue so far as in the last issue we saw the Superman family, Eradicator and Cyborg Superman all trapped in the Phantom Zone. It is in the Phantom Zone we find out Zod’s true plan to bring back his wife and child. This is a really cool idea as Jurgens is drawing on characters past and is effectively looking for some people to mirror the Clark’s Family.

I do really like how writers don’t just leave Jon and Lois on the sidelines and whenever possible they play some role in the fight. It makes the book feel like their book too, just as much as Superman’s. So it was really cool to see both Jon and Krypto take on Zod. One complaint I do have about this issue is the fact that Zod defeats all the Supervillains on his side singlehandedly which kind of makes them appear weak.

In conclusion a solid ending to this arc. The writing and dialogue was really well done. The art was also very good. This book continues to be as strong as it was from the start and I can’t wait to continue reading.
