A funny little comic book comment I heard on the radio…
With last Friday’s news about meteorites crash landing in Russia,
the media was buzzing with sh
ock & awe and then a DJ from a local radio station had this to say about what happened… The guy is obviously a comic book fan, because he said the first thing that went through his mind when he heard about the meteorites was, wouldn’t it be awesome if instead of a large space rock hurdling through our skies and slamming onto Russian territory, it was an escape pod carrying a small Kryptonian child inside. He’s of course referring to the terrific GN called Superman : Red Son by Mark Millar. This “what if?” story takes Superman’s American setting and shifts it into a more communist setting in Russia. Now I’m sure the average radio listener didn’t know what this DJ was talking about, but this fanboy knew exactly what he meant and ended up putting a large grin on my face.
